Why Does This Base Design Work?

This Town Hall 8 war base features a symmetrical, multi-compartment design aimed at slowing down ground assaults and protecting key defenses. The core houses the Town Hall, Clan Castle, and Dark Elixir Storage, surrounded by a strong inner ring of defenses including Wizard Towers, Mortars, and Air Defenses. The layout utilizes a 'moat' style inner ring to separate the core from the outer defensive layer, forcing troops to path around rather than directly through. The outer layer consists of numerous small compartments containing Cannons and Archer Towers, which breaks up attacking forces and forces them to deal with multiple walls. Trap placement is strategic, with Giant Bombs likely positioned between defensive structures in the outer ring to catch hogs or giants, and Spring Traps near defensive gaps. The base's strength lies in its compartmentalization, which makes it resilient against mass ground attacks like GoWiPe or mass hogs, as the continuous wall breaking required stalls the attack and exposes troops to prolonged defensive fire. The centralized Air Defenses also provide solid coverage against dragon attacks, a common strategy at TH8.
