To copy a base in Clash of Clans, tap any base share link on a mobile device to automatically open it in-game. On desktop, copy the link and paste it into your phone's browser, then tap "Open in Clash of Clans" to import the layout.
Clash of Clans allows players to share base layouts through unique URLs that start with link.clashofclans.com. These share links contain encoded data that tells the game exactly where every building, wall, trap, and decoration should be placed. When a player taps a share link on a device with Clash of Clans installed, the game opens directly to the layout editor with the shared base loaded and ready to save.
The share link system supports both Home Village and Builder Base layouts. Each link is permanent and does not expire — a base shared in 2024 can still be imported in 2026. The link preserves the exact position of every element including trap placements, which are normally hidden from opponents.
On mobile devices (iOS or Android), tapping a base share link automatically opens Clash of Clans and loads the base layout in your layout editor. Save the layout to one of your available base slots.
Step 1: Find a base layout you want to copy on any website (like this one) and tap the "Copy Base Link" button.
Step 2: The link opens in your default browser. If Clash of Clans is installed, a prompt appears asking "Open in Clash of Clans?" — tap "Open" to proceed.
Step 3: The game launches and opens the Layout Editor with the shared base loaded. All buildings, walls, and traps appear in their correct positions.
Step 4: Tap the green "Save" button in the Layout Editor to save the base to one of your available layout slots. You can save up to 9 different layouts per village.
Step 5: To activate the saved base, go to your Layout Editor, select the saved layout, and tap "Use This Layout" to make it your active base.
On desktop, click the "Copy Base Link" button to copy the URL to your clipboard. Then paste the link into your phone's browser (via messaging app, email, or notes) and open it on your mobile device.
Desktop users cannot directly import base layouts because Clash of Clans only runs on mobile devices. The workaround involves transferring the share link from your computer to your phone.
Method 1: Copy the link and send it to yourself via WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord, or any messaging app. Open the message on your phone and tap the link.
Method 2: Copy the link and email it to yourself. Open the email on your phone and tap the link.
Method 3: Use a QR code — some base layout sites (including ours) generate a QR code when you copy a link on desktop. Scan the QR code with your phone camera to open the link directly.
Clash of Clans allows players to save up to 9 different base layouts per village. This includes both the Home Village and the Builder Base, each with their own 9 layout slots.
The 9 layout slots provide enough room for multiple base types. A recommended slot allocation for active players includes 2-3 war bases (rotated to prevent opponents from pre-planning attacks), 1-2 farming bases, 1 trophy/hybrid base for regular play, 1 progress base to track upgrades, and 1-2 experimental layouts for testing new designs.
Players can overwrite any saved layout at any time by importing a new base share link or manually editing an existing layout in the Layout Editor.
Base share links remain functional indefinitely and do not expire after game updates. However, the effectiveness of a layout may change when Supercell adds new buildings, rebalances defenses, or introduces new troops.
Supercell maintains backward compatibility for base share links. A link generated in 2023 still works in 2026. When a player imports an older base layout at a higher Town Hall level, the new buildings (like the Monolith at TH15 or Guardian System at TH18) appear in a queue of unplaced buildings that the player must manually position.
For this reason, base layouts on this site are marked with a "Verified" date to indicate when they were last confirmed to work effectively against the current meta. We recommend using bases verified within the last 3 months for optimal performance.
