Why Does This Base Design Work?

This Town Hall 8 war base utilizes a highly centralized Clan Castle and a diamond-shaped core to frustrate attackers. The design philosophy clearly centers on defending against the most common TH8 war strategies: Mass Dragons and Hog Riders. The dead-center Clan Castle makes luring incredibly difficult without a significant preliminary troop investment. The three Air Defenses are arranged in a wide, balanced triangle, protected by high-hitpoint Elixir and Gold storages acting as damage sponges, while the Air Sweeper covers the southern approach towards the offset Town Hall. For ground defense, the base features an outer ring of point defenses with strategically placed gaps that clearly house Spring Traps and potential Giant Bombs to severely disrupt Hog Rider pathing. Wizard Towers are positioned to cover both storages and Air Defenses, providing crucial splash damage against grouped Balloons or Hogs. The Barbarian King is kept deep within the base to assist in core defense. The segmented outer compartments slow down heavy ground pushes like GoWiPe, forcing troops to break through multiple wall layers while taking sustained fire.
