Why Does This Base Design Work?

This TH5 farming base uses strong walls and smart defense placement to stop attacks. It works well against the most common armies at this level.

This TH5 farming layout centralizes key splash defenses within five compartments. The core compartment protects the Gold Storage, Elixir Storage, Wizard Tower, and Air Defense. A nearby Mortar provides long-range splash coverage over these resources. Three Archer Towers and three Cannons create a dense field of point-defense fire. This defensive structure effectively counters Barch spam and Goblin swarm attacks. The offset Clan Castle placement helps lure and delay enemy troops, protecting valuable loot with overlapping fields of fire.

✓The central compartment contains the Wizard Tower and Mortar, creating a concentrated zone of splash damage that protects both the Gold and Elixir Storages from swarms.
✓Central Air Defense placement makes Giant-Healer attacks difficult, as the Healer is quickly targeted and eliminated while trying to support Giants attacking the core.
✓Strategic Spring Trap placements between defenses are designed to eject high-health troops like Giants, breaking up tank-heavy assaults before they can breach the core.

⚠️ Weaknesses

✗A mass Balloon attack from the south can overwhelm the single Air Defense, as the southern Archer Towers are positioned further away and offer limited support.
✗The Clan Castle is not perfectly centralized, allowing an attacker to lure the defensive troops with a single unit from the north, neutralizing a key defensive element early in the raid.

🏰 Recommended CC Troops

Max-level Balloons are ideal for the Clan Castle. Their high splash damage upon death devastates common TH5 ground armies like Barch, and they effectively target and eliminate tanky troops like Giants.
