Why Does This Base Design Work?

This TH5 farming base uses strong walls and smart defense placement to stop attacks. It works well against the most common armies at this level.

This TH5 farming layout utilizes six compartments to safeguard resources. The design separates the Mortar and Wizard Tower into a dedicated northern compartment for powerful splash coverage. The Town Hall shares a central cell with one Gold Storage and one Elixir Storage, protected by point defenses. A single, well-placed Air Defense in a western compartment guards against aerial assaults. The base structure effectively counters mass Goblin and Barch (Barbarian and Archer) attacks by segmenting storages and leveraging splash damage zones.

💪 Strengths

✓The central Wizard Tower provides overlapping splash damage covering the Town Hall and two storages, neutralizing swarms of Goblins or Barbarians.
✓Giant-based attacks are mitigated by the compartmentalized layout which slows their progress, funneling them over two Spring Traps placed in their path.
✓Resource protection is maximized by distributing the four main storages across three different compartments, forcing an attacker to breach multiple wall layers to claim all loot.

⚠️ Weaknesses

✗A mass Balloon attack from the southeast can destroy two Archer Towers and the core before the single Air Defense on the opposite side of the base engages.
✗The Clan Castle is positioned outside the walls, allowing an attacker to easily lure and defeat defensive troops with a few low-cost units before starting the main assault.

🏰 Recommended CC Troops

High-level Balloons (excellent splash damage against ground troops upon death) or a Valkyrie (deals high area damage to counter groups of Giants or Barbarians).
