Why Does This Base Design Work?

This Town Hall 8 Trophy base utilizes a highly compartmentalized diamond-shaped layout designed to stall attackers and protect key structures. The core houses the Town Hall, Clan Castle, and Dark Elixir Storage, surrounded by a tight ring of walls. Three Elixir Storages act as high-hitpoint buffers to the north of the core, protecting the central Air Defenses. The base features a symmetrical design with multiple small compartments, each containing a mix of point defenses like Cannons and Archer Towers, and splash damage from Wizard Towers and Mortars. This cellular structure forces attackers to break through numerous wall layers, slowing down ground assaults significantly. Trap placement is strategic, with Spring Traps and Giant Bombs positioned between defensive structures in the outer compartments to disrupt pathing. The overall philosophy is to create a time sink and wear down attacking forces before they can reach the heavily fortified core, making it an effective design for trophy pushing at TH8.
