Why Does This Base Design Work?

This Town Hall 8 Trophy base utilizes a diamond-grid compartment structure, effectively segmenting defenses to slow down ground assaults. The core houses the Town Hall, Clan Castle, and Dark Elixir Storage, surrounded by a tight ring of key defenses including Air Defenses and Mortars. This central clustering ensures high DPS against troops that breach the outer layers. The outer compartments are designed to funnel troops, with Elixir and Gold Storages acting as high-hitpoint buffers in front of Cannons and Archer Towers. Wizard Towers are positioned to cover multiple compartments, providing crucial splash damage. Spring Traps are strategically placed within the defensive ring to eliminate high-value targets like Hog Riders or Giants. The layout's symmetry and layered walls force attackers to expend significant resources breaking through, making it a solid choice for trophy pushing. The placement of the Barbarian King altar near the core adds an extra layer of defense against core dives.
