Why Does This Base Design Work?

This TH5 war base uses strong walls and smart defense placement to stop attacks. It works well against the most common armies at this level.

A symmetrical TH5 layout utilizes 13 compartments to slow ground troops. The Town Hall occupies the central core, protected by a centralized Clan Castle, Wizard Tower, and Mortar. These core defenses provide overlapping splash damage against swarm attacks. The single Air Defense sits in a northern compartment, shielded by a Gold Storage. This design effectively counters Giant-based ground attacks and Barbarian-Archer spam. High-HP storages buffer damage for key point defenses like Archer Towers and Cannons, extending their operational time during raids.
