Why Does This Base Design Work?

This TH5 war base uses strong walls and smart defense placement to stop attacks. It works well against the most common armies at this level.

This symmetrical TH5 layout concentrates all key defenses within a single, heavily-walled central compartment. The design features five total compartments, with the core protecting the Town Hall, one Mortar, one Wizard Tower, and one Air Defense. This centralized splash and air defense structure effectively counters mass Barbarian and Archer (Barch) spam. The layout also provides a strong initial defense against early Balloon attacks by safeguarding the lone Air Defense, forcing attackers to breach the core to neutralize it.

💪 Strengths

✓The Mortar and Wizard Tower occupy the central compartment, creating an overlapping splash damage zone that eliminates ground swarms like Barch.
✓A single Air Defense sits deep within the core, protected by multiple structures and a wall layer, making it difficult for Giant-Healer or Balloon attacks to destroy it quickly.
✓The outer layer of non-defensive buildings creates a wide perimeter, extending the pathing for enemy ground troops and separating tanking units from their support.
