Why Does This Base Design Work?
This TH4 hybrid base uses strong walls and smart defense placement to stop attacks. It works well against the most common armies at this level.
A centralized Clan Castle and Mortar provide core defensive strength in this TH4 design. The base contains three primary compartments, protecting key structures. The central diamond-shaped compartment secures the Town Hall, Clan Castle, and two Gold Storages. An adjacent pocket protects the single Air Defense, while another houses the Mortar. This layout effectively channels ground troops, making it strong against mass Giant attacks and Barbarian-Archer (Barch) swarms. The design funnels units into concentrated defensive fire, protecting both trophies and resources.
💪 Strengths
- ✓The Clan Castle's central placement makes luring defending troops difficult. A protected Mortar provides excellent splash damage coverage over the core, effectively countering swarms of Barbarians and Archers.
- ✓Giant-based attacks are defeated through strategic funneling. The layout directs Giants towards outer defenses, forcing them into the Mortar's range and Clan Castle troops' line of sight before they can breach the core walls.
- ✓Compartmentalization separates the main core from the Air Defense and Mortar. This design forces ground armies to break through multiple wall sections, slowing the attack and maximizing the damage output from each key defense.
⚠️ Weaknesses
- ✗Mass Balloon attacks can easily overpower this layout. The single, albeit protected, Air Defense is the only major threat to air troops, and its destruction leaves the base vulnerable.
- ✗All four primary point defenses, two Cannons and two Archer Towers, are placed outside the walls. An attacker can destroy these key defenses with a few Archers or Barbarians before launching their main assault.
🏰 Recommended CC Troops
Baby Dragon, Archers: The Baby Dragon delivers high splash damage to both ground and air troops, effectively countering Giant pushes or early Balloon attacks. The supporting Archers provide additional ranged DPS to pick off remaining enemy units.
