Why Does This Base Design Work?

This TH4 Hybrid base layout centers its defense around a large core compartment. The design features two walled compartments. The main section contains the Town Hall, a level 2 Mortar, the Clan Castle, one Gold Storage, and one Elixir Storage. A separate northern compartment isolates the level 1 Air Defense for protection. Two Archer Towers and two Cannons create a perimeter of point defense. The layout's centralized Mortar effectively counters mass Giant attacks. The protected Air Defense placement defends against early Balloon deployments from multiple angles.
